Monroe County Recycling Grants Awarded
County receives $206,858, Chestnuthill Twp. gets $13,862
Monroe County and Chestnuthill Township were recently awarded recycling grants from the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to Senator Pat Browne (R-16th District, parts of Lehigh, Northampton and Monroe Counties).
The Monroe County Municipal Waste Authority received a $206,858 Recycling Development and Implementation Grant to augment a drop-off collection program for glass, aluminum and steel/bimetal cans, newsprint, corrugated cardboard, office paper and plastics.
Chestnuthill Township received a $13,862 Recycling Performance Grant based on 1,008.6 tons of recyclable materials and the township's population in 2005.
