Senator Browne Reminds Residents of Tours of the CapitolSenator Pat Browne reminds residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that tours of the State Capitol Building are available and free of charge. This is a low-cost, informative outing. These tours give a brief glimpse into the history of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and how its government works. Tours are available Monday through Friday every half hour from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are also available on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The tours generally last between half-an-hour and 45 minutes. "There is so much history and wonderful architecture in the State Capitol Building," Senator Browne said. "I urge anyone who has not taken the opportunity to visit and tour the Capitol to do so. Not only will they learn a tremendous amount about Pennsylvania history, but they will also have the chance to see the buildings and chambers where the legislative process takes place and get a glimpse of the day-to-day activities of the Capitol." Guests will have an opportunity to see the Main Rotunda of the Capitol, the Senate and House of Representative Chambers and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Individuals or groups can inquire or reserve a tour by contacting Capitol Tour Guides at 1-800-868-7672. Tours may also be scheduled through Senator Browne’s Office. Advanced reservations are suggested for everyone and are required for groups of 10 or more. For safety purposes, group size is limited to 80. Tours are not given on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. For more information or to book a tour through Senator Browne’s office, contact Senator Browne’s Harrisburg office at 717-787-1349 or visit his website at www.senatorbrowne.com.
